Fitness Club Equipment Packages
Package specifications for membership clubs of 300 to 3,000 members, sized so the equipment still fits the floor when the club grows.
A membership club lives or dies on retention, and retention is largely a function of whether members can complete the session they came for without waiting. That is an equipment-ratio question, not a marketing question — and it is settled at specification stage.
Sizing for growth, not for opening day
Opening-day membership figures are the least reliable numbers in a business plan. We design club floors for the membership the plan projects at month eighteen, then phase the purchase so the first delivery matches opening day demand and the second matches the growth curve.
Every platform in our range is designed so a later purchase matches an earlier one: the same frame tube, the same pad profiles, the same cable spec and the same fittings. A club that buys a second selectorised line two years later does not get a visibly different equipment generation on the floor.
What we look at
- Peak occupancy and session length. Thirty-minute circuit members and ninety-minute strength members need different station counts from the same floor area.
- Class programming. If group cycling or functional classes run from the main floor, the equipment layout has to accommodate the class footprint, not fight it.
- Staff capability. Equipment that requires specialist maintenance suits a club with engineering support; where it does not exist, we favour lower-maintenance specifications.
- Consumables budget. Cables, pulleys, pads and bearings are the real ongoing cost. We publish the part list so you can budget for it honestly.
Typical club package
Most clubs of 800 to 1,500 members settle on a mix built from two multifunction Smith platforms, a four-station circuit, eight to twelve plate-loaded and selectorised machines, a cable crossover or dual functional trainer, two power racks, a bench line, a complete free-weight range with storage, and a small conditioning area. The exact numbers come from your floor, not from this paragraph.
- Sizing based on projected month-eighteen membership
- Phased purchase for cash-flow control
- Platform continuity across repeat orders
- Consumables and spare-part budget published
- Layout compatible with group programming
