Resort Hotel Fitness Centre

This project arrived with an unusual constraint: the interior was designed and specified first, including a warm bronze frame finish and a specific upholstery tone. The equipment had to match an existing palette rather than the other way round.

The finish problem

Powder coat colour matching is normally straightforward when a client supplies a RAL or Pantone reference. Here we were matching a physical material sample against a metallic interior finish. Our first spray trial was too green in daylight; the second, adjusted with a warmer metallic additive, was approved.

We held the approved coupon on file with the batch record. If the hotel orders additional equipment for a second wing — which is already under discussion — the colour will match.

Specification choices

Ninety-six square metres is not much floor, and the room shared a wall with guest accommodation. Two decisions followed from that:

• Self-powered and magnetic cardio only. No motorised treadmills, no friction-pad cycles — nothing that transfers noise through the structure.
• A multifunction Smith platform plus one four-station multi gym instead of separate machines, which delivered more training options in less footprint.

Delivery

The consignment went as a single 20-foot container. Installation was handled by the hotel's own contractor with our assembly documentation and remote support; the only site visit we made was a pre-delivery dimensional check, which caught a door width that would have blocked the multi-station frame.
